Griewe had his hands full dealing with two tough competitors, Husky rider Dave Gerig and Maico-mounted Val Tamietti. Gerig and Griewe traded the lead in round one action after Tamietti DNF with a broken shock. Gerig was first to the checkers and Griewe had to settle for second ahead of a charging Randy Rodriquez. Tamietti jumped to the early lead in moto two and led Gerig and Griewe for two laps before his replacement shock began to fade. Griewe took over the lead after a brief power struggle with Gerig and headed for the checkers and the overall win. Gerig picked up second overall with Rodriquez cashing in at third on his Maico. Suzuki-mounted Jimmie Roy grabbed fourth. . Honda rider Brian Myerscough dialed-in the 'win in the 250cc Pro class. Myerscough went 1-1 for the day despite tough pressure from fellow Honda rider Mike Shoemaker. Shoe picked up second for the day with Yamaha rider Vince McMahon picking up a well deserved third overall ahead of Honda-mounted Dean Cates. . The 125cc Pro victory went to Yamaha rider Jim Anderson who edged out Yamaha pilot Mike B'eier after two exciting motos. Kawasaki rider Todd Campbell finished third. David Lechner rode his Kawasaki to the 125cc Beginner win, picking up the overall win with a 1-2 score. Second overall went to John Fieller on a Kawasaki and Suzuki rider Gary Welles finished third. Yamaha rider Terry Pratt cleaned house in the Vet Novice race posting back-to-back moto wins for the second day in a row with big leads over the field.
