PRODUCT EVALUATION i ~ 00 0-> .....-4 '"' C\I .....-4 >- lo-o4 ~ ~ = ~ ~ Arai MX-80 helmet Arai's MX-80 MX/off-road helmet, better known as the Brad Lackey model, is comfortable and well proportioned. The shape of the eye opening requires careful maneuvering of goggles to get correct fit and feel. The interior is well padded and washable. There is even a screw in the top of the Snell 80 approved helmet which, when removed, allows the helmet to drain and dry quicker after washing the interior. The foam rubber padding in the crown of the fiberglass construction helmet may be a bit irritating to those without a full crop of hair on top. We suggest inserting a folded bandanna to cover the foam. The helmet fits snugly around the cheeks and comes with a five snap visor which seals on the top edge to prevent water and/or mud from draining onto the face. Of interest is the rubberized mouth and face guard. It is adjustable up and down as well as fore and aft to provide whatever fit is required. The chinstrap fits snugly. The helmet weighs 3 lbs., 90zs. As with helmets which come in a few graduated SIZes - small, medi urn, large, extra large - rather than hat sizes, we recommend trying on at least two or more. Our helmet, size large, was noted on the inside information band as being for sizes 7li through 7l2. It felt too roomy. Dropping down to a medium size, even though it wasn't supposed to be big enough for a 7li user, provided a comfortable fi t. The .helmet is available in white, blue and yellow, and suggested list price is $123.95. Gary Van Voorhis ~ / iIaPP~ v NeW year Contael your local dealer for DO YOU NEED A SPONSOR?
