nada- Northern California-Northern Nevada-OrejJon-Washington-ldaho-Utah-AI Brad Skreen was pumped after his third place finish. "I've competed in national trials meets (he won one!), but I've never had 3000 people watching every section. The crowd was great, rooting for everybody. to do well. I think junkyard trials is going to catch on. I sure like it." Results TRIAlS: 1. Dave Pyle (SWM) 91; 2. Dele Dorcas (Fen) 25; 3. Brlld Skreen (Mon) 41; 4. Sten Bekgeerd (Man) 59; 5. INFORMATION: (7141631·7168' SEATrLE;WA, NOV. 13 The 450cc Production and Modified Production Barbarian classes ran some of the tightest racing all year. Wayne Tanner, who also won the Open Production title took the 450cc Modified class. Larry Buck hustled his Honda Hawk to the Production crown over Kelly Constable and Richard Burnham: A big trophy goes to Ric Carter in the new WMRRA "Hero Award" program. His beautifully £aired Maico Formula Two racer has an imposing list of frustrating DNFs. Second in balloting was Sean Casey for the "highest leap;" he'd thrown his immaculate XS400 completely over the storm fence. Lane Campbell's nominee, Rhys Howard got plenty of votes' for his spectacular blow-up during the Superbike National. But the big news was the number one plate. With the 1982 holder, Rhys Howard out of town so much, Bellevue Suzuki-sponsored Randy Skiver owns S.I.R. The seasoned veteran grinned and allowed to NESRA rivals that, "We've got a few men at our table, too." 0 it ENTRY FORM KENT, WA, NOV. 7 ciationawards banquet at Tai Tung's restaurant in Seattle's "China ToWn." Unfortunately, valet parking did not include motorcycles. But food there was! Incoming President Mel Nordberg had promised to pick up the tab of anyone left hungry. Things got off a bit slowly - the NESRA Barbarians banged their chopsticks on the table cryin~, "Food! Food! Food!" And then It came in waves, 10 courses if you count the fortune cookies. While Chris Loomis handed out medallions to season high point winners, lovely Marjory Calvin served as trophy girl. There'd been a big fight for the 198~ number one plate. NESRAsponsored Dave Roosevelt was high in combined points with his first in 600cc Modified Production, third in 750cc Production and second in the 600cc Production class. The Yamaha Seca pilot warned, "OK Interceptor riders, watch out!" Scott Moon came pretty close to number one too, winning the 600 and 750cc Production classes on a stock KZ550..Raising his arm in the NESRA salute, he was devoid of comment except, "Are we not men!" Folks got pretty jealous tonight at the WashingtonMotoreydeRmdRacingAsso- THE'2nd ANNUAL I . . - CRYSTAL CHALLENGE ~RAND P.RIX~' wasn't the only thing shining, the stars of local MX were displaying their full brilliance. In 250cc Pro action jon jacobson (Suz) handed in a pair of wins for the overall. jayme Nickle, riding a borrowed Honda, had a flat tire in moto one and ended up fifth. Betweenmoto repairs allowed him to go out and claim a second place finish in moto two for third overall. Highland Honda's Don Halverson took second for the day. Only one 125cc Pro pilot showed up so everyone 'geared up' to watch the 125cc As battle it out. In moto one, Steve Oster won and jim McMann (Suz) got second. The Inman brothers were battling it out with Lonn taking third and Lorin fourth (and their dad a few gray hairs). In moto two Lorin got the holeshot, but Burien Suzuki hotshot Steve Oster got by on the steep downhill. Oster is known for never letting off the gas. Jimmy McMann, riding for Enumclaw Suzuki, was on the move and stole first from Oster. Oster waited for the right moment to reclaim it and ended up with the number one trophy. McMann got second overall and Loon Inman third. In 250cc B class wars, Charlie Mitchell of Renton Yamaha took the early lead, but·a first lap crash put him out of it. Don Tyler (KTM) and Ed Anderson (Suz) battled it out for a few laps. Anderson finally got by and Tyler fell back for a sixth place finish. Working his way through the pack was Don Bugden (Suz). Bugden couldn't catch Anderson but got second. ; In moto two Mitchell again took the early lead, but this time he hung onto it. Bugden again worked his way up to second for a first overall. Mitchell had to settle for seventh due to his mishap in moto one. Second .overall went [0 Anderson and third to ·Tyler. • (Please Print) NAME: G.P.
