Summer senes Pro class winner Gary Bault (Hon/Yam of Roseburg Yam) took both Open Pro motos as did Joe Spangler (Kaw support) who was 125cc Pro victor. A Pee Wee Junior/Intermediate race kicked off the day's racing which saw Jeff Daily launch a br~nd.new '83 Kawasaki support mac~me mto.the lead in Intermediate action over nval Ryan Huffman (Yam of Roseburg) and Junior David DePew (qrescent City Yam). Daily sewed up another win for a I-I blitz over Huffmans hounding 2-2. Chris Renard (Yam) won the second Junior moto to take the overall with a 2-1 over Medford's Shawn Highland (Xam), who was second overall with a 3-2 tally. DePew DNF. . . Daily came back to top.both Mml Intermediate motos on hlS Yamaha support/Hi-Point Racing 80cc Rocket, smoking the field with 1-1 scores once again. Matt Ramey (Herbs Cycles Yam) also goes quite fast, but couldn't put a pass on Daily and settled for a 2-2, outpacing Joel Sitts (Yam Sports Center) who posted a.3-3. The 2S0s" were turned loose first which saw Keller put his KTM USA/Moto X Fox sponosred ride into a commanding lead at the drop of the gate, followed by Randy Alliman (Suz) and Steve Williams (Herbs CyclelYam' suppottIYamalube). Spanglerput his 125cc machine into the lead at the start of the Open/I25cc contest over Bault and Roy Davis (Davis Cycle SupplylWheelsmith Mai). Spangler quickly mov~ up throu~ the heavy first lap traffic to settle mto second behind Keller. but only for two laps, then Alliman went around the smallbore leader. Keller had the lead all to himself with a lap to go followed by Alliman, Spanglerand Bault. Spangler took the 125cc Pro moto win and Bault the Open. Williams and Davis both were in the hunt, but DNF. The second'outing into the silt sa.w southern Oregon sensation Keller slither into a superb strangle~o~dof first over Spangler, Bault, Wllhams and Alliman. Williams was on the prowl this time a~d soon ~oved into third, but couldn t work his way past fiesty Spangler, who has mor~ than dominated southern Oregon 10 the 12Scc Pro class this season. Keller opened up an a!terbumer l? settle into an astounding lead which left Spangler and Williams to duke it out over a spot which both wanted badly,· due to Ralph Huffman's generous 200% Pro payback. Keller was out to take the majority of the money, though, and went for a total d?mination with a.L I double moto blitz over Spangler, 'who also went I-I i~ his class and Williams, who finished third, but was actually second since Spangler was on a 12S. Bault ~nce again took the Open honors wnh a I-I score over Davis, who had a rough day and went 2-2. Suzuki mounted Mike Booth topped both 12Sct C motos, which gated the largest class of the day..
