Broc Glover was pictured on the cover 40 years ago for winning
the Coca-Cola Supercross finals in his home city of San Diego...
Terry Cunningham won the R.M Wheeler National Enduro in Tulsa,
Oklahoma, but Dick Burleson clinched the National Enduro title for
the eighth consecutive year... Billy Liles was the top rider at the CRC
Amateur Supercross in San Diego... We tested the 1982 Yamaha XJ750
RJ Seca street bike... We featured a product review on the new A-Trak
suspension system.
We featured a photo of local motocross racing from Pullayup Raceway
Park in Washington on the cover of Cycle News 50 years ago... We
reported that the AMA National numbering system was going to go back
to the way it was after a one-year experiment... J.N. Roberts was injured
while performing a stunt for the move "Speed Limit—65 MPH." The desert-
racing star suffered facial injuries... We tested the latest off-roader from
Zundapp... We continued our coverage of the Honda Hawk's attempt
to break the land speed record. We took a closer look at the Hawk
streamliner and its struggles.
