"I got a pretty good start in the first moto and passed my way up to sixth, I got a couple of guys with four laps to go," said Brayton. "In the last moto, I got a great start but I couldn't find my groove. Things are coming around so I'm really happy. This track was crazy rough; I don't remember RedBud being like this. They put sawdust or wood chips down and it got really rutted, which makes the racing tough. It was still a fun track and I love coming here." 32 MALCOLM STEWART 7TH (8-7) 450 Malcolm Stewart has shown good speed in the outdoor series and his RedBud ride was another good example of that, as the TLD/Lucas Oil Honda rider finished seventh overall. "In the first moto, I got a pretty good start, I was running fourth for a while and then a couple of guys got by me and I ended up eighth," said Stewart. "In the second moto, I got a good start and I was running sixth and ended up seventh, so I was seventh overall, which is what my goal was - to be top 10. It wasn't really the way I wanted the races to go, but I'll take it as a good thing. I'm just trying to be consistently in the top 10 to get some teams looking at me for next year. So basically I'm just out here shooting from the hip and trying to do the best I can." 29 ANDREW SHORT 8TH (4-12) 450 BTO Sports/KTM's Andrew Short had another mixed showing like he did the weekend before at Southwick, turning in a spectacular ride in the opening moto for fourth, and then finishing 12th in moto two after suffering a bad start. "This was another improvement for me," said Short. "Southwick was good for me and today I ran fourth in the first moto. I had some strong speed and I felt really good on the bike. This track was really rutted and it was really critical to carry a lot of momentum and that's tough when it gets late in the moto, you have to sweep and stay strong. I don't know if the passing was any better but it was great to see them do something different on the track."
