(Clockwise from above) Yamaha's '83 YZ80 features a "linker" rear
suspension and a side-mounted (ala Kawasaki 125) radiator. Kawasaki 's
KX125 f eatures a single-strut Uni-Trak, 44mm fork, different cylinder
barrel and a new frame . The KX 2 5 0 looked more "pre" than production.
Th ey will probably be much the same as seen here with a different tank and
twin radiators. The KX80 looked and worked like a new-from-the-ground
design. Note the single-strut Uni-Trak and water-pumping engine. KX60
ri ders made their grou nd up o n the rough straights and with horsepower.
Of course, Honda has not sh own their 60cc entry yet. Suzuki's only
com pet it iv e 60 was this one-off built by Shaun Kalos ' grandfather. It is a
Full-floater and was bui lt before Suzuki 's prototypes. Mike Healey's
Honda CR 80 was a stock 1983 model that was raced in the modified
class, as were the pre-production Kawasakis and Yamahas, in accordan ce
wit h NMA rules. It is also water-cooled and seemed to work well . The
105 R sticker on the sw ingarm is made up of 259 and 125R stickers.
