Chalk up another one fo;··K~~asaki.
Now try and remember when anyone
put together a string of Superbike
victories like this.
When Eddie Lawson hammered the
rest of the pack at Laguna Seca, he
collected his fourth first-place trophy
of the season. Combine this with teammate Wayne Rainey's win at Loudon
and that makes five in a row for us this
season. Including the Bell Superbike
Triple Crown Series. No wonder we're
celebrating.
Besides flat out-riding 39 other
racers, Eddie showed a Laguna crowd
the kind of high-performance engine wizardry that's bouncing around in
tuner Rob Muzzy's head. A.I1d he
proved once again that when you start
out with a machine like the KZIOOO, you
end up with a Superbike that's proving
itself unbeatable.
Even Rainey, who slid off the track,
put on a great show. He dusted himself
off, jumped back in over a lap down,
and by the finish, he'd blasted back up
to tenth. A lot of the competition would
. have been happy just to be around at
the end, much less finish in the points.
Eddie and Wayne are still first and
second in the standings, way ahead
of the field. And you can bet these boys
aren't through yet.
The good times just keep rolling.
At number five, and counting.
