Maico Mike took the holeshot in moto two and held the gas on just . long enough to beat out Jaundice John for the win. John was really charging at the end of the mo to bu t couldn't quite ca tch Mike for the win. Jumpin ' Jack had to fight his way th ro ugh trafllc as he got off to a poor start but fought his way back to take third. In the Novice class, T oad Tom an d hi s Ya maha too k the overall win for the da y. Tom could be looking for a tra nsfer pretty soon as he has been really hotlatel y. Boner Boband Endo Eric came in second and thi rd for their efforts, and Maico-rnounted Turtle Ted ro u nded out the top four with a fourth overall ride. The sand that's been placed . at Saddleback really provided the riders with plenty of trac tio n an d excellent riding conditions. The Gang had an excellent turn ou t due to the fact that everyone is getting tu ned up for Mammoth in a couple of weeks. Everyone is defi ntely loo king forward to coming back in the near fu ture . Perfect day for Myerscough, Dymond at CMC Saddleback By Mike Klinger ORANGE, CA, JUNE 6 Maico support rider ' Mickey Dymond and Honda-mounted Brian Myerscough bo th rode perfect days with two moto wins each . Dymond p ut the screws to 19 o ther P ro class contestants, and Myerscough handled 18. In the 250cc Pro class, a 2-1 score gave Andy.Jefferson (Suz) a very im pressive overall win wh en he ou trode 36 Pros to the win ner's circle. . Mike Tripes, riding a new 500 Pro Circuit Prod ucts Husqvarna, p ulled the holeshot in moto one of the O pen Pros wi th Dymond an d Dave Gerig (Hus), also of Pro Circ uit, hot on his heels. By the end of lap on e, Gerig had the lead with Dymond ;fnd "Mr. Bill" J ewell , on a Mo to -Me ister Maico, making the top three. On lap three, Gerig hit the turf, an d Dymond was never to be cau gh t. Tripes and Bill Keefe, also on the new 500 H usky, wound up finishing second and third with Je well fourth then Dale Lewis (Mai ) and Gerig. Dymond topped the ranks in moto two aga in . His flawl ess riding put the 490 Maico in the lead, an d no one could get close . Tripes aga in ha d to take a back seat to Dymond with Gerig th ird. Gerig 's 6-3 score gave him third overall with Keefe fourth . Honda's Ron Turner made another mark in the motocross history books with another moto win in the 250cc Pros. T urn er crested the start hill with Andy Guth (Hon) an d Andy Jefferson (Suz) side by side. By lap five, the field really settled do wn. T urn er began to pull the field and back in sixth pl ace Craig Gormley (Yam) was figh ting Fritz Schlegal (Suz).
