For the first time since the Doha
GP, Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS
Racing Team) took a Moto2 race
win in dramatic circumstances for
the 2021 championship. Augusto
Fernandez made it an Elf Marc
VDS Racing Team 1-2 at Misano.
Aron Canet (Aspar Team Moto2)
claimed third, but the defining
moment of the race was the
crash of Raul Fernandez (Red
Danilo Petrucci's (9) last
MotoGP race on home soil
ended abruptly when Mir
(36) gave him a helping
hand into the gravel trap.
Valentino Rossi's last
race in front of his
home fans netted him a
10th-place finish.
