FIRST LOOK I 2022 DUCATI MULTISTRADA V2
P70
D
ucati's mid-level Multistra-
da is getting a makeover
for 2022. Ditching the
Multistrada 950 moniker, the ma-
chine will now be known as the
Multistrada V2 but that does not
mean it'll be getting the 955cc V-
twin motor currently found in the
Panigale V2.
Instead, it'll get a revised ver-
sion of the motor found in the
outgoing 950. The 937cc Tes-
tastretta 11° V-twin is also current-
ly found in the Monster, Super-
sport 950 and the Hypermotard
and features new conrods, a new
clutch and a revised gearbox.
These mods have given the
V2 a claimed 4.4-pound weight
saving in the motor alone, which
gets bumped a further 3.75
pounds when you add in the
lighter wheels that have been
donated straight from the Multi-
strada V4.
Ducati is claiming 393 pounds
dry (wet weights are not quoted
by the manufacturer), and they
are trying to accommodate
every possible rider by offering
10mm lower base seat height
of 830mm (32.68 inches),
which you can further reduce to
790mm/31.1 inches. Taller riders
are accommodated due to the
10mm lower foot peg position.
Ducati will be offering two
versions of the Multistrada V2 in
the $15,295 base model and the
Multistrada V2 S that will retail for
$17,895. The latter gets the Sky-
hook semi-active EVO suspen-
sion, a five-inch TFT dash, up/
down quickshifter, cruise control
and backlit handlebar switches.
Both machines will come with a
Bosch IMU, Cornering ABS, hill
hold control, traction control and
four riding modes of Sport, Tour-
ing, Urban and Enduro.
There will be two color options
available in the Ducati Red and
Street Grey, which will only be
available on the V2 S.
Units are due to arrive on
dealer floors by mid-December,
just in time for Christmas.
