VOLUME 58 ISSUE 41 OCTOBER 12, 2021 P67
K
awasaki now has its own
"special" limited edition mo-
tocrosser in the all-new 2022
Kawasaki KX450SR. The designa-
tion "SR" (Special Racer) was previ-
ously reserved for the company's
works racers but has now been
attached to a production model.
Kawasaki says the all-new
KX450SR model "has been de-
signed to suit riders seeking race
wins and features elite-level racing
components, special tuning and
design updates inspired by the
Monster Energy Kawasaki race
team to further elevate its perfor-
mance and factory racer looks."
The KX450SR is essentially a
standard KX450 fitted with several
special parts and updates. In the
motor department, the SR features
a new cylinder head with polished
intake ports, a Pro Circuit Ti-6 Pro
titanium exhaust system, and up-
dated ECU settings.
When it comes to chassis, the
SR is fitted with KYB suspension
components (versus the standard
model's Showa components), and
the bike has been fitted with XTrig
ROCS-TECH triple clamps with
PHDS (Progressive Handlebar
Damping System), and higher-
grade D.I.D DirtStar ST-X rims.
The SR also comes with a gold
D.I.D chain, a Renthal rear sprock-
et, Monster Energy Kawasaki race
team inspired color and graphics,
and a Hinson clutch cover with
Kawasaki Racing Team logo.
The KX450SR retails for
$12,399 and should already be
available at your local Kawa-
saki dealer.
