MX 338 RACEWAY/SOUTHWICK, MASSACHUSETTS
MOTOCROSS

2013 LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP SERIE
450 NATIONAL
While Dungey got squeezed off
on the inside of the first turn in
moto one, his title rival Ryan Villopoto had it much worse - getting taken out all together. But
that wasn't all. Moments later,
Villopoto found himself again in
the wrong spot at the wrong time
after getting knocked down again
by a couple of bikes that were fly-
ing across the track without their
riders. So, after the first lap, the
two title rivals were running 10th
and 30th, respectively.
Dungey was able to move up
quickly and slide in behind BTO
Sports/KTM's Andrew Short
near the end of the race and
was actually content staying right
there until he realized Short was
leading the race and not a lap-
per. But he had enough time left
to zap his fellow KTM rider and
go on to take the win.
Dungey did have some help
along the way when Yoshimura
Suzuki's James Stewart crashed
out while leading. Stewart had
led the first nine laps before
going down hard over a jump,
handing the lead to Short, who
couldn't hold off Dungey.
