Quartararo gradually closed back down on Bagnaia and with one lap to go the two were glued together at the front, although Quartararo could never quite get close enough to launch an attack on the factory Ducati. Bagnaia held on, taking the win by 0.364 seconds. It was a sensational third and debut podium for Enea Bastianini (Avintia Esponsarama Ducati). The Italian was in incredible form on his two-year-old Duca- ti, repeatedly setting the fastest lap of the race as he picked off Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda), Miller, Joan Mir (Ecstar Suzuki) and Pol Espargaro (Repsol Honda), who filled fourth to seventh places. Espargaro got the better of his brother Aleix on the factory Aprilia, with Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) and Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Idemitsu Honda) rounding out the top 10. Ducati wildcard Michele Pirro took 11th from Honda wildcard Stefan Bradl, and Maverick Vinales scored his first points for Aprilia in 13th. ROUND 14 / SEPTEMBER 17-19, 2021 MISANO WORLD CIRCUIT MARCO SIMONCELLI / RIMINI, SAN MARINO P66 MOTOGP I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MYOWNRACE 63 FRANCESCO BAGNAIA 1ST MOTOGP "It was another perfect weekend!" Bagnaia said. "It wasn't an easy race at all: Quartararo was really strong towards the end, but I tried to stay consistent as much as possible. To get another win was important, and to do it here at my home track, in front of so many fans and those who love me, was even more special. Now we won't have much me to celebrate: Tuesday and Wednesday, we'll be back on track for two days of tes ng, but for now, I want to enjoy this success." 25 RAUL FERNANDEZ 1ST MOTO2 "Another really difficult race," Fernandez said. "I didn't sleep well Saturday night so I'm really happy with this. The track was different to yesterday and I didn't have much grip. I want to thank the team for an incredible bike and also the Clinica Mobile because the hand was s ll not good. I don't know how I could ride or brake but we did it today." Jack Miller (43) went around the outside of Quartararo (20) to make it a Ducati 1-2 on lap one.
