The day was pe rfec t for ridi ng with tem peratures in the m id-ninties. Cen tral Ari zona Trials Club encourages family participation, and ma ny people ca mped out at the trials site the night before. There were many people co ming fro m the Tucson area in So uth ern Arizona. The trials course consisted mainly of h ard granite and sand. There was a minimum of mar k ing with mos tl y natu ral boundries used . T he course was made up of fifteen sections, all whi ch wer e wi t hin wa lking d ist an ce of th e p it area. Everyone rode the first te n sec tio ns, then th e Exp erts ro de five sp ecia l sections with the Amateurs and Novi ces acting as observers. T he Expert sectio ns were d eceivin g wi th off-cambers and steep down hills used to mak e th e secti ons loo k harder th an th ey were.
