Payne continued his winning streak that
he started Friday night at Lions, scoring
a double his first time out on the
beautiful Corona Raceway course. Bill
won the 500 Expert class going away.
but was involved in a battle royal with
Bruce McDougal on his 250 Yamaha
and Rex Statein with his CZ.
Each of the three got a first overall in
at least one moto. Payne a nd McDougal
ended up tied fo r first place with
Starein in for the third place spot.
Bruce McDougal and Bruce Baron
staged another three-mote, race-lo ng
duel as they d id last Saturday. Today.
however. they had to contend with
Chuck Bower and Ken Zahrt making the
racing" close enough to please the most
avid of fans.
Bower and Za hrt both had problems
with their scoots after finis hing second
and fourth in the first moto . This left
