Corona Motocrossers Continue Show
By Buzz Baty
CORONA, CAL., Feb. 19,1972 - With
the benefit of last week's inaugural
motocross event under their belt,
today's event was run with a great deal
more alacrity and precision. Dale
Teubner, with a healthy assist from his
beautiful wife, got the kinks ironed out
of the scoring problems and results were
completed 30 minutes after the last
event.
Ride turnout this week was about the
same as last week, but with some new
faces being seen. Most familiar to this
writer was David Boydstun who had to
settle for a third place overall. His A]S
has the goUywobbles and David had to
compete on a borrowed Husky.
A pair of Brians, Beeker (Hus) and
Harber (Hus), finished first and second
overall in the 500 Expert Division.
Ron Russell is working hard to get
some of those flat spots rounded into
shape and I am sure that a lot of the
names familiar to Southern California
motocross will be making Corona
Raceway a regular stop.
Ron informed me ' that next week
they will begin paying cash to the
Experts. How much and in what
percentages
had
not
yet
been
determined, but expect it to be an
attractive figure.
With · a lot of the problems of last
week's inaugural show ironed out, the
motos were ru n in apple pie order. T he
checkered flag falling on the last mota
at 4:30 , letting everybody get ho me for
an early Saturday night dinner or
whatever.
(Results on page 32)
and another view from the stands.
