FRANCE ON TAP
The 96th ISDE will now take place
in France according to unofficial
reports, which put it close to where
this year's EnduroGP series finishes.
Once again, it should be based out of
a small regional airport with the final
motocross test at a track about 15
minutes away.
ROUGH START
Being injured coming into a race
as important as Six Days isn't ideal,
but a number of competitors found
themselves in that situation to varying
degrees. As Josep Garcia revealed,
"Two weeks before Six Days I had a
bad crash during a training ride and
I hit my head and also my shoulder.
I stayed one night in the hospital
because I lose consciousness. It was
hard to come here with confidence,
but these things happen but most
people didn't know."
FOUR DAYS VERSUS
FOUR MONTHS
Regarding his collarbone injury prior to
Six Days, Taylor Robert said, "Hon-
estly, my collarbone didn't really bother
me at all this week. It's just that I didn't
get to prepare like I normally would've. I
only rode four days before I came here.
Usually I prepare for, like, two months
so that was definitely a bummer."
27 (AND COUNTING?)
Veteran Fred Hoess completed his
27th ISDE in Italy, which included
when he took part in the inaugural
Vintage Enduro Trophy race in 2016,
winning that three-day affair overall
in Spain. Hoess finished with a silver
medal as the 49th fastest in C1 as a
member of the Eric Cleveland Memo-
rial team that with Nick Swenson and
Joel Tonsgard placed 10th Club.
