S
ix rounds into the 2021 MotoAmerica
Superbike Championship and Jake Gagne
has won every race aside from the very first
one at Road Atlanta when his Fresh 'N Lean Attack
Performance Yamaha's motor broke.
Seeing as that one wasn't his fault, we're call-
ing it a perfect season so far, and the Colorado
resident continued his crushing dominance of
America's best with two race wins at Brainerd, Min-
nesota, even if he did crash in race one.
In the first AMA Superbike event at the venue
since 2004, Gagne started from pole, moved to
the front and began his usual disappearing act but
dropped the Yamaha on lap two, turn two, gifting
the lead to Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New
York rider Loris Baz, who promptly fell off at the
next corner and bought out the red flag.
Baz's WorldSBK-spec Panigale was a total write-
off, and the Frenchman was none too pleased about
it, blaming his crash on an inexplicably short pre-race
grid that didn't allow enough time on tire warmers to
get the required heat in the rubber for the race.
