really lasted until the other championship contenders found their
ways into the top three. At first,
Musquin was pulling away from
Hahn, Orangebrigade KTM's
Joey Savatgy, and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Adam
Cianciarulo (in his long-anticipated pro debut), while defending champ Blake Baggett and
Musquin's teammate and points
leader Roczen started near the
tail end of the top 10, and Tomac
started midpack at best.
Roczen actually went around
Baggett on lap two as the two of
them went to the front, and then
Baggett seemed all too happy to
follow Roczen through the pack
as Roczen picked guys off until
he sat second on the fifth lap with
Rockstar Energy Suzuki's Jason
Anderson, Hahn and Baggett in
close pursuit. Baggett passed
one of them each lap to sit third
behind Roczen a couple of laps
before halfway, and at this point
Roczen was gaining steadily on
Musquin, and Baggett was doing
likewise with Roczen. It was obvious that Baggett was the fastest
guy on the track, but he has been
hampered throughout the start of
the series with an injured throttle wrist that still has only about
10-percent movement. In the first
