FLAT TRACK PROGRESSIVE AMERICAN FL AT TRACK ROUND 7 / JUNE 26, 2021 ALLEN COUNT Y FAIRGROUNDS / LIMA, OHIO P84 Systems squad. Combined, the team scored a Mission SuperT- wins 2-3-4 with Robinson's team- mates, Jared Vanderkooi and Brandon Price, finishing third and fourth, respectively. Also, quietly impressive was Estenson Racing's Kolby Car- lile. After a difficult 2020 rookie season in which he finished no main event higher than 13th, Car- lile equaled his career best with a second fifth-place result this season aboard the developing Yamaha MT-07 DT, while main- taining his perfect season run of top 10s. Perhaps even more tellingly, it was also the third just transpired. "It was so close between us, and it got to the point where we were almost playing games with one another. We just couldn't get away from one another and we were almost both getting annoyed. We were looking back. 'What the heck?' Because we couldn't break each other. "That was probably the gnarli- est, most fun race I've ever been in. I've never been in a race at Lima that was just knock-down, drag-out like that. Man, hats off to Briar. That was an incredible race." While Robinson was unable to secure the win, it was still a fine evening for the Mission Roof was better because, at the same time, we were trying to go fast and see what the other guy was doing. "I got to where the clock was zero and knew I had two laps remaining and thought to my- self, 'How bad do you want it?' Because I was out of gas. It was just a battle. "That's what you live for, whether you win or lose. Obvi- ously, you want to win, but just to be a part of stuff like that, it's historic, for sure." Even after coming up 0.427 seconds short of victory, Rob- inson appreciated what had MYOWNRACE 143 KODY KOPP 6TH SINGLES Highly touted rookie Kody Kopp con nued to make his presence felt, matching his best professional result yet with a sixth on the Smartop/Jones Honda CRF450R. He said, "Lima is in the books. It was a great day for the team. We started out top eight in qualifying and had a front row for our semi. That's the first one we've had this season, and man, that made the day a lot different. In the main, I got a good start from the second row and was up to third on the first lap. I kind of faded a li le bit, but I fought back and was up to fourth a few mes. I ended up finishing sixth and we're happy with that. That was a total war out there."
