behind. Kabakchiev was fourth
ahead of LeBlond and Haaker
had dropped back to sixth.
By the second check point,
Roman had taken over the lead
with Webb and Hart within 20
seconds of the top spot. Haaker
moved back up to fourth, a little
over three minutes behind the
leader with Kabakchiev holding
fifth, another three and a half
minutes back.
Hart worked his way into
second and made a late pass on
Roman to take the win with a to-
tal time of one hour, 45 minutes
and 30 seconds. He was just
10 seconds ahead of Roman on
the Factory Sherco, while Webb
finished third on the FactoryOne
Sherco, one minute and 43 sec-
onds behind Hart.
Haaker held on for fourth
place ahead of Kabakchiev.
Robert finished in sixth posi-
tion with Keith Curtis in sev-
enth riding a Sherco. LeBlond
dropped back to eighth after
having to loop back to reach a
missed checkpoint. Brandon
Petrie finished ninth on a KTM
and Will Riordan rounded out the
top 10 on another KTM.
"Today was a day perfect day.
I had an intense battle with Mario
and Cody the whole race," Hart
said. "It ended up coming down
to a downhill one-mile from the
finish and I held the gas on lon-
ger to take the lead and sprint to
the finish for the win."
"Trystan was just too fast in
the fast sections," Roman said.
"We would all come together in
the very technical [stuff], make
different passes, but ultimately
I got passed near the finish in
what seems like he was pinned
in fifth gear."
"The steep shale seemed to
be my undoing," Webb said. "My
feet would slide out from under
me when trying to plant for pivot
turns and such. This would take
me off my line taking away time.
The three of us battled hard,
and we were right together on
the final major climb, but I just
didn't have enough to get it done
today."
