Greg Zitterkopf was pictured on the cover of Cycle News 30 years
ago. Zitterkopf, along with teammates Garth Sweetland, Paul Krause
and Larry Roeseler, combined efforts to win the Baja 500. Roeseler
competed on two separate teams that year. He also partnered with Ted
Hunnicutt but dropped out with a mechanical... Twenty-seven-year-old
Doug Dubach scored his one and only Supercross victory at San Jose's
Spartan Stadium. He edged
out factory Yamaha teammate
Damon Bradshaw... We tested
Yamaha's short-lived WR200RD
two-stroke off-roader.

AMA Superbike and FIM World Superbike were our main features in
Cycle News 20 years ago. Anthony Gobert and Matt Mladin traded
wins at the Road America National, and Colin Edwards and Troy
Bayliss shared first-place honors at Laustzring... Ricky Carmichael
captured his first 250cc National MX win of the season at Southwick.
Travis Pastrana won the 125cc class... Rodney Smith won the
Scarecrow GNCC in Uhrichsville, Ohio... Destry Abbott won the
Idaho City Two-Day ISDE Qualifier.
