MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 2 / JUNE 5, 2021 THUNDER VALLEY MX PARK / LAKEWOOD, COLORADO P64 waning moments. "It's the second race in a row that I'm on the podium, which is great," said Ferrandis after- wards. "We rode great in the first moto, probably one of the best motos of my career, but unfortunately I had a small issue that cost me the win. I had a bad start in moto two and was mid- pack, but I gave everything I had and came back through the field and finished second again. We made some changes on the bike for the second moto, and it was really awesome. It was a good weekend." Bouncing back from a disas- trous opening round was Cian- ciarulo, who struggled to 11th work to the bike, as well, that I wasn't 100 percent sold on when I left the track during the week. In both motos he overcame poor starts to get himself up to second- place. He also showed his fitness aboard the big bike, even in the mile-high altitude of Colorado. His best lap time, a blistering 2:11.581, came on the second-to-last lap of the 16-lap final moto, which allowed him to pass Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull GasGas rider Justin Barcia in the chael in 2004. "Adam and Dylan and I were battling, and it was super fun. Just being there the entire moto battling and passing each other was a lot of fun." The second moto went much easier for the red rider. After dispatching early leader Cooper Webb (Red Bull KTM), Roczen pretty much disappeared with the win, extending his lead to nearly 20 seconds at one point, giving him his most emphatic win in some time. "I wasn't really full of con- fidence, and I definitely have some work to do, but luckily the muscle memory starts kicking in and I'm starting to feel bet- ter," Roczen said. "We did some Justin Cooper took the 250MX-class overall victory but did so without a moto win. He is, however, sitting alone at the top of the point standings.
