Briefly...
Defending 250 Champion Blake
Baggett crashed in the first 250
moto and Zach Osborne and Darryn Durham were right behind him
in the same rut in the tight right
hander and they both went down
as well. Baggett recovered quickly.
His 4-8 gave him fifth overall but
is still fourth and losing ground in
the standings to Ken Roczen, Eli
Tomac and Marvin Musquin, who
all finished ahead of him at High
Point.
Cole Seely was first into turn one in
the first 250 moto, but was nipped
by Zach Osborne at the white
line for the Motorcycle Superstore
Holeshot point. The TLD/Lucas Oil
Honda rider, Seely, ran second in
the early laps of the moto, but later
crashed out and appeared to be
holding his wrist. He came back to
race in the second, but didn't seem
close to 100 percent. His 18th overall finish was the worst outing of the
season for him.
In one of the most remarkable stats
in this year's outdoor Nationals,
seven different 250 riders have
earned the holeshot in the eight
motos of 2013. At High Point, in
moto one, it was Zach Osborne
becoming the first two-time winner this year and Marvin Musquin
earning the honors for the first
time in the second moto. Osborne
has his eyes on the end-of-theyear prize. "It's $15,000; you can
do a lot with $15,000," Osborne
said. "And it's quick. Throughout
the whole year out of 24 starts it's
maybe two minutes of work. That's
a pretty good hourly wage if you
carry that on out." Musquin joined
Osborne, Blake Baggett, Zach
