yan Dungey and Marvin Musquin etched their
names into the record
books as the maiden winners at
Muddy Creek Raceway's debut
as a part of the Lucas Oil AMA
Pro Motocross Championship.
It's been 15 years since a national
motocross was held in the southeast and it was well received by a
huge and enthusiastic crowd.

After facing relatively fast
tracks at Hangtown and Lakewood, many of the top riders
were happy to see a more technical course at Muddy Creek,
although some thought the track
was too tight and narrow (see
sidebar) and the starts were
more important than usual.
KTM rider is known to be a little
smoother and more cautious than
his Kawasaki counterpart, Ryan
Villopoto, and the tight and technical track played right into his
hands, although he struggled to
get into podium position in moto
one after getting off to a relatively
bad start.
