our factory bikes." The only extras would be for accident damage.
Yamaha is in discussion with
several teams, but there was as
yet no clarity on potential customers.
It was a face-off with Honda as
to who would select which option.
The Honda RC is a complete
bike, but lacking pneumatic
valves it will be at a lower level
than the factory and satellite machines.
The new production-racers are
meant to take the place of the
current generation of unloved
CRT bikes that use production
engines.
One team considering both
options is the Marc VDS squad,
planning a possible move to MotoGP from Motos 3 and 2 next
year for rider Scott Redding.
Again, however, nothing has
been decided, with team chief
Michael Bartholemy describing
the main team objective as staying in the smaller classes, but
at the same time ensuring that
Redding gets a MotoGP ride of a
quality to match his talent.
"Whether it will be with us
or with another team we don't
know," he said.

Jarvis can finally add the Red
Bull Hare Scrambles Erzberg Rodeo to the list of his accomplishments. On June 1-2 in Austria,
the Husaberg rider from Great
Britain ran away with the win for
the first time.
Starting from the second row
in wet conditions, Jarvis had
about as flawless a ride as you
can have on such a tough and
demanding course and came
away with the victory with room
to spare.
"For once this race has gone
perfectly for me," Jarvis said.
"I'm so happy to have finally won
the Red Bull Hare Scramble – it's
amazing.
Jarvis finished the race 18
minutes ahead of Husqvarna's
Andreas Lettenbichler.
"It's a massive relief to have
finally won the Red Bull Hare

Husaberg rider Alfredo Gomez
secured third place ahead of
KTM's top finisher Jonny Walker
and Beta's Ben Hemingway.
Doug Lampkin (Gas Gas), Taichi
Tanaka (KTM), Ivan Cervantes
(KTM), Alex van den Broek (KTM)
and Pierre Pallut (KTM) completed
the top 10 overall.
