IIIMY OWN RACE:
94 KEN ROCZEN
1-1 450SX
"I got a really good start," Ken Roczen
said a er winning Indy 3. "Along the
way, I came in contact with Jus n Barcia,
who hit me pre y hard and bent my
shi er a bit; I wasn't able to shi un l
like half a lap later. I held my lines and
focused as much as I could and we did
the three-peat, taking home another
win on a track that wasn't really my
favorite. Those kinds of nights are when
you get another step closer to a champi-
onship run, and it was really important
for us to get more points and be gaining
instead of losing. I'm so happy to finish
all three Indianapolis main events in
first, as I've never gone three in a row."
got away from Barcia, who later
bobbled which cost him a spot
to Webb.
Once into second, Webb
went on the attack and reeled
in Roczen but couldn't quite
get close enough to attempt a
pass. Roczen took the win by
less than a second over Webb.
"Ken rode great and ad-
justed to the race as it went,"
Webb said. "I felt like I charged
hard at the end and got close,
but just not enough. I missed
the rhythm with two to go and
that kind of killed it for me, but
he rode a great race and beat
me straight up."

said. "I grabbed a really good start and was in
second, made the pass happen early and just
checked out; it was an amazing race for me. I
flowed nicely with the track, put a little gap in
between me and the other guys and just enjoyed
my race—stayed focused and brought it home."
"I tried to give [Roczen] a little battle in the
beginning but that's all I had tonight," Barcia
admitted.
Roczen didn't let up the following Saturday (Indy
3). He led from start to finish but this time had
company the whole way. At first, it was again Bar-
cia who kept close tabs on the leader, Roczen,
for many laps. But Roczen held his ground, even
after the two made hard contact in a 180-degree
turn. Both riders wobbled away from the turn but
keeping their positions intact. Roczen eventually
After finishing
second at Indy 2 and
seemingly getting back
on track, Justin Barcia
hit—literally—another
setback at Indy 3 when
he got taken out by a
lapper while battling
for the podium.
