"I ended up cross-rutting off of the second double so I was deciding in the air whether I could brake and still tuck to the inside to stay in the track, but I would've gone into the Tuff Blocks," said Tomac. "I had to make my way all the way around the berm; I couldn't get an advantage, so I had to let Eli by." Once again, Tomac was out in front, but not for long. "In that same lap," Roczen said, "he left the door open and I took the opportunity to pass him." From that point on, Roczen managed to keep the defending champ at bay to take the win. Like the previous race at Hous- ton 3, Roczen was under heavy pressure late in the race but this time he had an unobstructed path to the checkered flag. "I felt like riders were going down le and right. It was one of those tracks where I think if you just stayed up, honestly, I felt like your results came. It was a very tough track to push.
