FEBRUARY 6, 1991
Jeff Stanton was pictured on the cover of Cycle News 40 years ago for
winning the Anaheim Supercross, which was round three of the AMA Camel
Pro Supercross Series. Jeff Ward was runner-up. Jeremy McGrath passed
Peak Honda teammate Steve Lamson to win the 125cc main event... We
featured an interview with motocrosser Ron Tichenor... Brian McElroy and
Tim Ferry were the big winners at
the Florida Winter MX Series in Dade
City... Mike Craig was the 250cc
Pro class at Carlsbad Golden State
National MX.

FEBRUARY 7, 2001
Kawasaki-mounted Ricky Carmichael made front-page news for winning
the Phoenix Supercross at Bank One Ballpark. It was his first win of the
year and put him in a tie for the championship lead with Jeremy McGrath.
Ernesto Fonseca outdueled Grant Langton for the 125cc-class win...
Yamaha introduced its brand new WR250F and we tested it for the first
time... We also tested the latest Kawasaki KX125 motocrosser... We
featured our coverage of the 23rd Total Paris-Dakar Rally. Fabrizio Meoni
took the win and gave KTM's its first-ever Dakar victory.
