LOOKING BACK
Suzuki took the wraps off its line of 1981 motorcycles, including the first
prototype Katana, but dealers were most excited about the company's
new RM465 motocrosser with Full Floater suspension, and its first
water-cooled RM125... We featured an interview with ISDT specialist
Jeff Fredette... The DG Golden State MX Series visited Lake Huron and
Radical Ron (Turner), Rocket Rex (Staten) and the Broccoli Kid (Broc
Glover) came away with the Pro-class wins.

FEBRUARY 4, 1981
We featured TT racing from the Houston Astrodome on the cover of
Cycle News 50 years ago. We had full race coverage. Dick Mann chased
Jim Odom for 19 of the 20 laps before taking the lead and win... In
local motocross racing, Mark Blackwell captured the overall win in the
Open Sr. class at Indian Dunes... Honda unveiled its 1971 models, which
included the new CB500 and SL70.
