VOL. 50 ISSUE 21 MAY 29, 2013 P83 Brown got the 2013 AMA EnduroCross Series started off with a confidence-inspiring win in Las Vegas. Racing is different, for sure, and there are a lot of different series, like GNCC, which is three hours of racing. And then you have EnduroCross, which is a lot like Supercross. I guess the biggest thing for me was learning you have to slow down a little bit, especially in EnduroCross, to make sure you clear the obstacles good before you can go fast. It took me three or four years to understand that, you just have to ride smarter and make sure you get over the obstacles cleanly. It seems like EnduroCross has progressed over the years. It seems like at first it was all about making sure you don't crash, and now it's about technique over the obstacles and going fast. Yeah, you're right, when I first got into EnduroCross, it was all about just getting around the track. Now it's like Supercross, it's how fast you go between the obstacles. Everyone is going to make a mistake here or there, so if you can make one mistake less then you are going to be on the top. You've raced just about every type of off-road race there is. Is there one you like better than anything else? I've enjoyed it all, but Endu- roCross is what I like now; it's always different. Off-road racing is always different. I've done a lot of different things, but EnduroCross for me right now is like Supercross to me. It's fun to ride, it's good racing and it's easy for people to watch. You leave next week for Baja, is that a race you like doing? That's different from any other race I do, going from slow speed to wide open. But the difference is getting used to the terrain. You'll ride 60 miles of sand whoops and then you get on hard dirt and then you're on the sand again. But the biggest thing is the high speed and how far you have to look ahead. It's a whole differ-
