INTERVIEW
P82
MIKE BROWN
Brown just came off a big win at the
X Games Enduro X, where he put his
Supercross skills to good use on the
more wide-open track.
er in Las Vegas. How does it
feel to get off to such a good
start?
It's always good to get the series started with a win. It all started in Brazil, I rode well there and
kind of carried it over into Vegas
and just kept the ball rolling. I just
feel like I have a lot of good momentum right now and I have a lot
of confidence in my ability and in
my conditioning.
Speaking of conditioning,
some who know you say you
are in better shape than ever,
" ENDUROCROSS IS WHAT I LIKE NOW;
IT'S ALWAYS DIFFERENT.
"
do you feel that's true?
Yeah, normally I'm doing a lot
of other series, which makes it
difficult to work on EnduroCross.
I think that's the big difference,
I'm just concentrating on EnduroCross this year. Vegas was just
my third race of the year, and I
think it's good for me because I'm
not getting burned out from riding
too many races. I'm racing Baja
this year, too, but my main focus
is EnduroCross.
How do you train for EnduroCross?
The last few months all I've
been doing is biking, and I've
picked that up a lot. I really enjoy
it and I can tell a lot of difference
in how I feel on my motorcycle,
that it's helping me fitness-wise.
You had a very successful
motocross career and then
you made the transition to offroad racing. Was there a big
difference going from motocross to off-road?
Just little things. I grew up riding off-road for fun, not racing it,
but just out riding in the woods.
