on the first lap.
Then Osborne ran off the
track losing some time. "I made
a bonehead move and scrubbed
too hard and went off the track,"
Osborne admitted.
Davalos lost a couple of spots,
while Tomac moved up to second
and was about three seconds
back of Roczen.
Both Musquin and Webb got
around Anderson on lap five for
third and fourth, respectively.
After dominating both motos
at Hangtown a week earlier, it
looked like Roczen was going
to do it again, but Tomac did not
want to let that happen again.
Tomac, instead, closed the
four-second gap that Roczen
once had and chased the former World Champion around the
track for the last 10 minutes of the
race. The two picked up the pace
and pulled away from the field.
Tomac was determined to catch
Roczen and got to within striking
distance. He was about to strike
when he bobbled on the last lap.
"I lost my rear end as I was
chasing him on that last lap and
I got too antsy, but it was a good
race and a good battle," Tomac
said.
Roczen took his third moto win
in a row and Tomac finished a
close second. "I had a good start

The real surprise of the moto
was the rookie Webb who passed
Musquin for third in what was his
first podium finish in only his second race as a pro. "To get my first
podium in only my second race
is awesome," Webb said. "I had
the flow that moto and I'd like to
be up here again. I had about a
