Cory Graffunder was involved in an incident in the first turn where he got caught up in a scrum of riders and got pushed out wide at the exit. The factory Husqvarna rider was able to overcome the poor start to finish fifth. "I was midpack on the start when I exited the turn," he said. "But the main thing I was worried about was getting over that first log, it would have sucked to not get over that. I was behind Ricky Dietrich for a few laps and by the time I got around him and into fifth, the front-runners had kind of gapped us. I just couldn't close it up and get in the mix with those guys. After that I was kind of in no-man's land. The guys in front of me were leaving me and the guys behind me were a straight away back."
