and was back on Barcia's tail half
a lap later. Villopoto would get by
for second place a lap later and
then set his sights on Dungey.
Shortly thereafter, Villopoto
continued his charge to the front,
passing Dungey for the lead.
"I was third for over half the
race the first moto," said Villopoto who said he found the track
difficult to pass on. "They added
a lot of sand to the track this year
and it was kind of one lined out
there."
In the final laps, Villopoto
simply pulled away like he did
at Hangtown, but Dungey was
close enough to pounce if Villo-
poto was to make a mistake. Barcia, Canard and Desalle would
round out the top five.
Barcia grabbed another MotorcycleSuperstore.com Holeshot
in the second moto ahead of
Canard, Alessi and Weimer. Villopoto was fifth with Dungey and
Stewart next.
Villopoto moved into second
place on the second lap, and
Stewart passed Alessi for fifth.
Villopoto was all over Barcia on
the third lap and made the pass
for the lead at the top of the
track's tallest hill.
Canard and Dungey engaged
in a good battle for a few laps,
then Dungey would eventually

he would get by for the final podium position.
