Tomac finished second to Hangtown double winner Roczen in
the first moto but was pressuring
him at the end, and his 2-1 gave
the Colorado-native the overall
victory much to the delight of the
home crowd.
And to make things even better for Tomac, he had to give
his teammate Zach Osborne a
big pat on the back for passing
Roczen on the last lap of the second moto for runner-up honors,
which allowed Tomac to gain five
points Roczen. Had Osborne not
passed the KTM rider, Tomac
would not have gained any points
on him after all his hard work.
Instead, Tomac closed in on the
red-plate holder a bit and now
trails the former World champ by
six points instead of 11 (after the
first three motos of the series).
And the way things look now every point is going to mean a lot
between these two rivals.
