Our preview of the 1991 Supercross Series was featured in the pages of
Cycle News 30 years ago. Our opening-round coverage was in the same
issue, and it was Jeff Stanton who fired the first shot at the Citrus Bowl in
Orlando. Brian Swink edged out Ryan Hughes for the 125cc East win.
We predicted Stanton would win the championship (we were wrong)... We
tested the 1991 Suzuki RM125 and
RM250... Donny Schmit won the GFI
California Winter MX Series round at
L.A. County Raceway.

JANUARY 17, 2001
It was a Yamaha sweep at the 2001 Supercross opener at Anaheim
Stadium. Jeremy McGrath was pictured on the cover for winning
the main event, as was Ernesto Fonseca for winning the 125cc
West main... We got our first ride on the fuel-injected Honda
CBR600F4i... We featured a story on what it was like to participate in
the MotoAdventures Peru Trail Ride... Alan Cathcart was let loose on
Kenny Roberts' 1980 Yamaha OW48R at Phillip Island.
