30 Years Ago DECEMBER 12, 1990 The Mini O's, aka Florida Winter Olympics, was our cover story 30 years ago. Jeff Dement, Ezra Lusk, Ryan Hughes and minicycle racer Ricky Carmichael were some of the standout riders... Once again, the canceled Barstow-to-Vegas Hare & Hound was replaced by another race, this one called Battle-to-Victory, which was held in Lucerne Valley, California. Danny Hamel took the win 10 minutes ahead of Dan Richardson... Jeff Stanton was crowned Masters of Motocross Champion in France. 20 Years Ago DECEMBER 13, 2000 We tested the all-new 2001 Yamaha YZ250F, which was pictured in action on the cover of Cycle News 20 years ago. It was the first production 250cc four-stroke motocross bike of the modern era... We covered the two-day Barstow-to-Vegas Dual Sport Ride. The winner? Everyone...
