NOVEMBER 14, 1990
The AMA/CCS Race of Champions was our cover story 30 years ago and
pictured on the front page was winner Superbike Lee Pounders. The race
was held at Daytona International Speedway. Team Mad Dog's Mike Harth
and Larry Schwarzbach won the Endurance Challenge race... We covered
the 1980 AMA Awards Banquet, where Jeff Stanton was given the Pro
Athlete of the Year Award. Tuners
Kenny Tolbert and Bill Werner were
named Sportsmen of the Year... Dave
Bertram won the AMA Reliability
Championship in Minden, Nevada.
Aaron Hough won the race.

We tested a pair of works WORCS bikes 20 years ago. We traveled to
Oregon to race test Mike Kiedrowski's factory Suzuki DR-Z400 four-stroke
and Destry Abbott's Kawasaki KX250... Valentino Rossi won the final
500cc World Championship Road Race in Brazil... We showed some
of the latest motorcycles from the Tokyo Motor Show... We interviewed
Superbike International's Paolo Flammini about the fate of the World
Superbike Championship... Mike Lafferty continued his dominance at
the Delaware National Enduro.
