Our feature story 30 years ago was our review of the 1990 Supercross
and Motocross Championships, and pictured on the cover was factory
Kawasaki rider Jeff Matiasevich, who was one of the young breakout
riders that year... John Dowd, Jeff Matiasevich and Ronnie Tiechenor
were the star racers at the Kawasaki Race of Champions in New Jersey...
Randy Hawkins wrapped up his
third AMA Enduro title in Redding,
California... The one-off Sacramento
50,000 Supercross played out at
Arco Arena, with Guy Cooper and
Mike Craig taking the class wins.

Aussie Shane Watts was featured on the cover 20 years ago. Watts won
the GNCC in Crawfordsville, Indiana, for his sixth win of the season riding
six different KTM models. This time he was on a 380cc two-stroke... Max
Biaggi won the final 500cc Grand Prix of the year at Philip Island... We
covered the first round of the FIM World Championship Supercross Series
at Paris. David Vuillemin took the win ahead of Mike LaRocco and Greg
Albertyn... 50/60cc race Ian Trettel was the big winner at the Branson
USA Motocross.
