MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 6 / SEPTEMBER 19, 2020 SPRING CREEK MX PARK / MILLVILLE, MINNESOTA P66 that really matters." The 250 class was poised to be a battle between the home- town heroes and a bevy of fast Star Racing Yamaha riders led by Ferrandis and a slew of Mar- tin's fellow Geico Honda riders. Everyone on the track delivered for the pre-set capacity crowd of 5000 mostly masked fans who were allowed to attend accord- ing to local health guidelines, but Ferrandis still provided the spoiler. He finally got decent starts in both motos after a run of several lesser starts helped put him in the 9-point hole he was in. He got to the front fairly easily in both motos, dispatching Rockstar Husqvarna's RJ Hamp- shire, winner of the last round, in the first moto, and then his own teammate Shane McElrath in the second. Jeremy Martin could not climb any higher than fifth, which meant the points were suddenly tied. That might have inspired Martin, had he realized it, but he later said he did not. No matter, he put up quite the challenge the second time out, running Ferran- dis down on the last lap and very nearly passing him in a thrilling race to the finish. "It's a big relief," Ferrandis said after winning by less than a half-second. "The past few races have been hard for me with a lot of up and down, more down. I injured my shoulder. It was not ideal, but we regrouped during the weekend off and tried to recover the best that I can. We did the job today." Ferrandis also of the other and here I am with two wins in a row. It's crazy." "I'm giving it everything I've got," said Baggett. "The goal is to be there at the end. If I don't win today, 2-2 is awesome, but at the same time I was so close to being able to pull it off. At least they knew I was coming and that's all last year when I won the cham- pionship on a 250, I never went 1-1. I'm just feeling really confident in my riding. In supercross and even the first round of outdoors, things were starting to tumble out of control and I'm like, 'Man, what am I doing?' and just continuing to grind and put one foot in front Martin brothers Jeremy (6) and Alex (26) finished out the day on the podium at their family-owned Spring Creek track.
