VOLUME 57 ISSUE 37 SEPTEMBER 15, 2020 P93
moved to within three points of
his rival.
Riders were met with a differ-
ent track on Saturday. It started
out better with some grip, but
ultimately when the main events
got rolling, the high line went
away. That didn't slow Bauman
down. The Indian Motorcycle
Progressive Insurance rider
grabbed the holeshot and put
on another masterclass per-
formance to lead from start-
to-finish, 5.5 seconds clear of
the competition. Whether he
was focused on the points or
not, his second doubleheader
sweep of the season moved
him to the top of the standings,
five points ahead of Mees on
the multi-time champ's home
turf in Pennsylvania. However,
the Californian now calls the
Keystone State home, and with
four-straight wins at Williams
Grove Speedway he lays claim
to that patch of red clay.
"I love this place," Bauman
said. I love this state now. It's
my home."
Joining Bauman on the
podium was Jeffrey Carver
Jr. who caught up to Sammy
Halbert and passed him with
two laps to go. Unfortunately
for Halbert, a determined Mees
took the final podium spot
in the final moments to help
salvage some of his points loss
to Bauman.
AFT SINGLES
In the AFT Singles class, it was
also a championship change-
up with Estenson Racing's
Dallas Daniels taking over the
lead with a 2-1 finish over the
weekend. On Friday, the young
Daniels showed speed straight
away with a dominant perfor-
mance in his semi to earn pole
for the main. He led the first
four laps and then was caught
off guard when he was passed
by his former teammate, Ryan
Wells. Daniels was shuffled
back to fourth with Mikey Rush
on the other Estenson Racing
Yamaha YZ450F and Morgen
(Left) Jared Mees is no longer the championship leader after going
4-3 over the weekend. (Below) Brandon Robinson (44) and Bronson
Bauman (37), finished second and third, respectively, on Friday night.
