The winning Motocross des Nations team, made up of Ricky Carmichael,
Ryan Hughes and Travis Pastrana, was pictured on the cover of Cycle
News 20 years ago. The race was held in St. Jean D'Angely, France,
and the U.S. team was considered as underdogs going into the race...
Rich King won the Vernon Downs Half-Mile in New York... We featured
an interview with Valentino Rossi... Greg Hancock won the Speedway
World Championship round at the Danish GP... Mike Brown won both
motos at the 125cc MXGP final in Gaildorf, Germany.
