Wayne Rainey clinched the 500cc Road Race World Championship
30 years ago in Czechoslovakia. The champ was pictured on the cover
celebrating on the podium... Scott Parker took the points lead away from
Chris Carr after winning the Springfield Mile; Carr was black-flagged
when his bike started leaking oil from a cracked crankcase... Mike
Kiedrowski (125cc) and Jeff Stanton (500cc) were the big winners at
the Binghamton National Motocross
in New York... Doug Chandler won
the World Championship Superbike
round at Sugo.

Travis Pastrana wrapped up the AMA 125cc National Motocross title 20
years ago at Steel City Raceway in Pennsylvania. The Steel City race was
Greg Albertyn's last. The three-time World Champion and 1999 AMA
250cc National MX Champion called it a career after crashing out of the
first moto... Scott Parker won his 14th career Springfield Mile... Colin
Edwards and Noriyuki Haga traded wins at the Assen round of the World
Superbike Championship... Eighteen-year-old Grant Langston clinched
the 125cc Motocross World Championship in Finland.
