As th e pa ck left the co nc rete sta rt ing pad, raci ng t o t he first turn o f th e Co m p eti tio n Park 's Vet track , Noble and his Kawasak i had a d istinct ad vanta ge over Ben Cates. J ason Dudler and Ryan Hughes. As the pack raced aro und th e recently reconfi gu red tr ack , Nobl e m ad e a bo bble and allo wed t h e cha rgi ng Dudl er to move fro m third at the start of the lap into the lead. Hughes was also able to get aro und bot h Noble and Cates. With the two front-run ners pulling away in th e lea d, Nobl e was left to regain hi s c om po sure an d tr y to hold off both Cates and the slow-starting Ti m Lyo ns.
