Keeney started to pull away from Br own e, givi ng himself some breathing roo m. Brown e stayed within str ik ing d istan ce, hopin g Keeney would m ake a m istake , but Keeney m ade no mis takes and took th e chec ke red flag , followed by Brow ne. Th e sec ond m oto was a race to th e first t u r n bet ween K ee n ey a nd B r own e , w ith K eeney going wi d e a nd Brown e tak in g th e in side lin e. Keeney was ab le to co me o ut of th e turn in the lead , wi th Bro wn e almost at his side. Keeney had th e adva ntage of choosing the faster Jines and was able to stay out fron t.
