Coon was setting a faster pace near the half way m ark , and after th e lea der, Do lin ar , m ade a pit sto p, Coon was rig ht on him co ming out of the sco ring barre ls. Th e race was on for the next solid ho ur ; Dolina r held Coo n at bay and neve r bo b bled, to Coon 's d ism ay . Sm ith was th e solid leader of the Amateur div isio n's 25 0cc/ Open class and was running thi rd overall, w it h Rich Sweat ho lding dow n fourth overa ll and first in the Fou r-Stroke division.
