In th e fi rs t 12 5cc Pr o mot o , Honda -mount ed Mike Sto rm held off a flurry of advances from Gra ves to take the win , ahead of Graves and Yamaha -mounted Eric Roth , although in the later stages of the moto th ings go t interesting , as lapped riders nearly thw art ed St orm 's chanc es. Storm got throu gh the heavy traffic better than Graves d id and netted the w in by a scant m argin . Sto rm led the o pening moments of moto two , but Graves shoved a whee l unde rneath h im and from that point to the fini sh he he ld the po int po si tio n . Storm st ay ed withi n str iking dis tanc e for most of th e race un t il a fall left him behind Grav es, Roth , and a large fi eld o f Intermed iat e r iders . St o rm p ic k ed h imself up, shook off m anc e of the season, trai li ng Graves fo r second place and th i rd ov er all , behind Storm. Th e to p p lacing Intermediate rider was Yamaha-moun ted Ke lvin Schoen ; he and Washington 's Da vid Coffey split m ot o w ins , but Sch oen 's 2 -1 ta lly earn ed the home to p br ass. Coffey d idn 't fare as we ll in m oto two after h is moto -one victory , fini sh ing third to Schoen and Jason Parks, but he still netted second o vera ll , ah ead of Par ks ( 6- 2) and Yamah a ri ders Andy Pag e (3- 5) and Trevor Brooks (5 -4) . Suzuki rider J.R. Vielle nab bed the lead at the start of the first 250cc Pro/I nter m ed i at e moto , but Profes sio nal r id ers Ryan Leach and Graves d i s pl a c ed t he In t erm ed i a t e ride r , alth ou gh Viell e wo u ld m ainta in hi s positio n to th e fin ish . Leach hel d off Graves to land a Pro -class win . Graves put a wheel ins ide of Leach at the start of moto two , and while Leach nipped at Graves' rear wheel for several laps, Graves inc reas ed his lead with each ci rc uit, m aintaining th e lead to the finish to net his second overall win with a 2 - 1 tally . Fellow southern Oregon speed ster Curtis Sweeze y and Bro ck Chappell e eac h tra iled Watson in the two m o t o s , bu t Chappe lle 's f inest m omen t of the series came in moto two when he held off Sweezey and Nick Randklev to nab second ov erall . All season long, Rand k lev has decimated the com petition in the 80cc Beg inn er class , b ut on th is d ay the H on d a r ider me t h i s m a t ch , as K a w a s a k i r id er Jerry B r a s w ell bec am e one of th e ver y few to b eat Rand kl ev this season.
