A s the race drew to a clo se, Steele w as in co ntrol. He fl ashed across th e finish line with a co nvinci ng win . In m ot a tw o , Kyle Freitas g rabbed a bi g holeshot. Head in g into th e second turn , he wa s followed by Steele, Yorton, Van Meter and Gish . Freitas wasted no time opening up a gap on St eel e. Through th e twisty back secti on , Steele and Yort on decided Fr eita s had had his fun and began reeling him in. Midway through the fir st la p, the rac e for firs t was a three-man battle. Steele bo ldly moved up on Freitas and took him on the inside. Freita s valiantly tr ied to reta liate over the do uble, but Steele was too stro ng . The n Yorton joined the fray. Bac k in the pack, small battles were taking pl ace all around . Te ller was rid ing ca utiously aft er his moto-one endo . Up fro nt , Steele was checking o ut and g rab bing b ig air over th e jum ps. Freita s and Yort on were wagin g a heated skirmish for second, wh ile Van Meter was all alone in fo urth. Gish bobbled in fifth , allowing Cody Eva ns to slip by for th e spo t . With on e la p to go, Stee le bega n to encounter lap pers. Char ging th roug h the bac k sectio n, he was c utti ng t h ro ug h th e backmarke rs w it h ease . In third , Yorton was go ing afte r Freit as who wa s just try ing to hang on. Freita s passed and bumped a lap ped rid er, causing the lap pe r to bo bble and go do wn , effectively block ing Yo rton and giv ing Fre itas some breath ing roo m .
